toyboat boy

in this painting i  reduced the midtones and background of the background; a wharf.  i flattened out  the depth  by covering it  it in opaque colors.   i hoped to create a certain mood; a boy, proud owner of a handmade toy boat.  he probably made this with his dad or uncle or other loving relation.  he is near the wharf or a lake, perhaps, and will soon set the boat assail.
the mood i am trying to set is of ownership, decorum and stoic pride.
i reduced my palette to only 3 main colors; green, cream and lavender.  (the black was already there).  the lavender under the cream is what really shows the underlying nuances.

This is such a darling image, Lisa. Is this a family photo?
