daily painting -the hunchback poster

its friday night so i was thinking about movies.  i saw this poster of the silent movie classic and i decided it would be fun to paint . i love painting from old black and whites - inventing colors, using lively brushstrokes, etc.  fun, fun, fun.  still if i did this again i think i would give the hunchback a better "do".  this one kinda looks like a russian hat or maybe even a changing of the guard's hat from buckingham palace.  so of course i had to look up what those hats are actually called:

The Guards hats are called Bearskins and they weigh 665 grams, some are over 100 years old and  passed down in the family.

who knew?  oh you did?  well, i didn't.   and i doubt i will know it by tomorrow, anyway.
short term memory = zero.
so what was i saying?  oh yeah.  friday night- silent movie- the hunchback poster - i was saying it was fun, fun, fun.  to paint.  the movie was with lon chaney:  here is how it was described:

In fifteenth century Paris, the brother of the archdeacon plots with the gypsy king to foment a peasant revolt. Meanwhile, a freakish hunchback falls in love with the gypsy queen.

sounds so good, i think i will see if i can rent it for tonight.

The Guards hats kills lots of bears and are so heavy and hot they have to train to wear them without falling and fainting.

I love these paintings and want to walk out on everything to come to your workshop in Paris.

I am calling your map "Paris Narrative" temporarily. Love it.

truly jill.
thats what it takes -just walk out on everything and come - your work won't miss you for a week or so and you can bring your laptop, i also do.
last time other people did that ---just said hell, i'm going and they are still so enriched and write us all the time. we are all great friends now.
its not just the workshops it is the company and companionship while studying/enjoying paris.
and its so cheap!
