daily painting.......wintery paris

this is Sacré-Cœur Basilica.....poised atop a hill in paris - this highest point in the city.  it is the summit of the butte montmartre.  this is where our art retreat takes place -not in the basilica, itself, silly.  but just below in the artist colony, a square called  the Place du Tertre; this is where pablio picasso defined his role in the modern art world.
then below that,  going down hill is the moulin rouge and the various interesting night life, shops and galleries.  also nearby is the famous art nouveau underground metro station.
