tomorrow is another day.....

i'm excited to teach my journaling workshop tomorrow morning and in the evening i get to do a demo for Ramona Art Guild.  what a great day - can't wait.
tonight i went to the Bard Hall Art Guild and we did ATCs and had a wonderful round table talk about them.  but something was bugging me.
Its that i am missing Tony Cuban.  Tony was maybe not my best friend but a man i liked and sat next to on many evenings at Bard Hall.  he was quiet and well mannered man who sat with his arms propped and steadied on his cane.  he listened to everyone with a slight smile on his face - a welcoming face.  he would share his art  and say he only did art to please himself but if someone else got enjoyment out of his work that was even better.   he often had a comical point of view that he also loved to share.   and he had his own poetry which he shared at poetry slams.
well, even though i disagree with god, god went ahead and decided it was time to take tony home.  well, i miss him and feel cheated that he won't be part of our circle anymore.  so (reluctantly)goodbye dear tony - we will really miss you.  but, thank you for leaving behind lots of art for us to enjoy and ponder.

The painting was fitting for this post. So sad when a friend is suddenly not there. Makes one ponder and want to appreciate those "silent always there souls" even more. I wish I were where you are to take a class with you. What fun it would be.

Hi Lisa, My friend took your class this morning and loved it...I actually recommended you since I saw you at a demonstration at the Art Bar a few months ago. Your art is clever, I enjoyed seeing your process, and now I am visiting your blog and enjoying it as well. I am sorry about Tony...It's beautiful how we get attached to people, and it is even more beautiful when we let them teach us something...XOXOrly

The two birds - companions The colours - sombre. Your birds reflect how you must be feeling at the loss of your art companion. I think, the red flower in the corner, can be symbolic of his art work and his discussion - that your memories of him, at your art sessions, will keep his 'presence' from fading. Sorry for your loss.
