stretch your creative side...
its really a nice feeling to be able to freely create without worrying about rules, viewers' opinions or worse, your inner critic's remarks.
the best remedy for it is to close your eyes and just create. if not that then, take whatever items are on your art table right now and collage them into to something that is either meaningful to you personally or pleasing to your eye only.
finally, i like to paint with instruments that are too large for the job; .i.e. extra large paintbrushes. this way there is no way i can get overly detailed. try it sometime.
my other favorite way to create freely is to draw with my left hand. i like getting surprises instead of controlling everything.
also i hum "born free" as i work.
i am back in business with my DVDs (i was sold out) "rosie in the garden" still has a special price of $12.99 until wednesday.

DVD "rosie in the garden"
here is the black and white that we paint in the DVD "rosie in the garden". with the purchase of a DVD you also get this image (on paper) written instruction, materials list and a full color copy of the very one i did for this video.SPECIAL DEAL UNTIL JUNE 1: this DVD is $12.99 (instead of $35.00) until june 1 (when we leave for 3 weeks in italy).
the reason i have placed this DVD on sale is because i am celebrating my daughter's awesome WIN at CIFs (california interscholastic federation) in swim - she took first in 100 yard breast stroke and 6th in 200 free. also, just last night she was awarded MVP for her high school's girls swim team.
she was phenomenal and formitable to watch. she did the 100 yard breast in 1:05.72!!! there was smoke coming off the water. she looked like a bullet. she is now only .04 away from consideration for the All American Swim team. i'm not worried she will make that. she is determined. plus she has another year of high school yet.
the profits from these sales will go to her for fun in italy this summer or whatever she wants. she has worked very hard and desires it.
so the Bebi s are in full on celebration mode which means it will continue all summer long. :)
to purchase the DVD for this special price, look up at the top sidebar on my blog here. it's called "rosie in the garden" swim champ DVD. rosie will thank you.

VICTORY CELEBRATION!!! -
in honor of my young 16 year old daughter's giant victory today at the california interscholastic federation (CIF) i am placing the "how-to" DVD painting "rosie in the garden" (age, 6) for $12.99 instead of $35.00 from now until we leave for italy june 2, 2011.
look up to the very top of my sidebar for a paypal button that's identified by "swim champ" for this special deal.
in case you know swimming ----she swam 100 yd. breaststroke in 1:05.74. she smoked 2nd place by 2 seconds. we are so, so proud. she's only .04 off "all american" consideration (national team) time. we are in for a fun ride now. AND she has a full year of high school left. proud, proud, proud.
anyway, enjoy the DVD. its' a simple, easy to follow "how to" paintover style painting technique as seen in the book "Art At The Speed of Life" (amazon)by Pam Carriker.
meanwhile, can you tell i'm a happy mama?

journal pages....
i created this page with first a layer of gesso, then washes of blue and green acrylics, added my daughter in a pretty dress, then stamped using gesso on a dish scrubber! made this piece look enchanting - all that's left to do is to write my heart out with a white gel marker.
